Construction has been on-going this spring at Fan Pier Marina under the state’s construction guidelines. The land base utility work is in process. The new docks have been delivered to the site via water. The docks were dropped into the harbor at East Boston and floated over to the marina. Starting on May 12, the Local Union 56 pile drivers began their work to install 40 new piles. Once the piles are in place, the docks will be moved into their location and secured. Next, the electrical pedestals will be installed and wired. If all goes as planned, we will be ready for occupancy by mid to late June. During this construction period, we will provide temporary dockage at Boston Yacht Haven and a water shuttle to Fan Pier.
As of August 5th, 2020, all the slips on Docks A – D have pedestals installed and wired. Fan Pier provides electrical services up to 480 volt 3 Phase. Work continues on installing finger docks on E Dock. The marina is still accepting seasonal vessels.
